Mail.com provides web-based E-mail services. "Your Personalized E-Mail" is the caption of mail.com seen at the top right hand corner of the homepage. Multi-colored with text dominating the page, and advertisements winking at the visitor, the home page looks designed in a hurry!
"Free Mail - Listen to your mail," proclaims a box at the top left corner of the homepage. This is an ad for downloading Pod Mail facility - to convert entire e-mail messages to audio files for easy transfer to portable media players. Mail.com is the first web-based email provider to offer podmail services.
Separate login boxes for mail.com and mail.comBeta versions are on the right hand corner. The "Why Sign Up?" question is answered with the advantages listed down. The "Click here to sign up" box, red in color is situated nearby. Sign-up is divided into 4 steps. The first step is the username and the e-mail domain. An address according to the visitor's taste can be selected - Art, Love, Out-of-the-World, Profession-wise, etc. - for e.g. visitor@cheerful.com!
The second step is filling up username, password, password hint, name, address, birthday, etc. fields. The third step includes special offers like e-mail alert which can be downloaded for free. The visitor can either go straight to his account or subscribe to paid premium services. The member is taken directly to his email welcome page - A mail welcoming the member to mail.com will have arrived in the inbox!
E-mail, Addresses, Calendar, Note pad, Premium, Games, Cards, Forum, Personals, Video and Chat are the Links found at the top of the email welcome screen.

- Personals: Sign in, meet new International friends, pen pals, etc.
- Video: Real time video clips can be viewed by member on this page.

"Options" is an important link with Signature setting, Auto-reply, Email Organizer, etc. - can be set according to the member's preference.

I found some times unable to log in, it kept telling me that my password or ID input was wrong. But I am sure that I typed in the right ones, as I even used clipboard to copy and paste in the passwords. And a few days or hours later, I could always log in again.
So, is it the problem that the site was under maintenance?
I have had my account for a week and it has been nothing but trouble! I am getting the user/password problem. If I can get it in, it will get where I can't send emails. It is also freezing where I can't check emails.
I have sent repeated emails asking for help and I am getting nothing! I thought if I created another account and forward my emails from my other account it would work, but that will not work either. As it's not recongizing my username or password. I have reset my password countless times and nothing!! If you are going to promote and sale a product make sure said product works!
It´s been now 2 weeks and I still cant´login. Same issue. Doesn´t recognise my login details. Wrote them and got a automatic response back. No human contact so far.
What should I do. I literally just got some business card printed with this email address on it. Very annoying :(
For the people who can not access their stuff on mail.com go to mail2web. That is what I did when mail decided to not let me log in and I was able to get my stuff and forward it to my new email account
Mail.com is great if you like it when only half of your emails make it to people's inboxes. When sending emails to Gmail and Yahoo users, my emails end up in people's spam folders. I had to have people add my email address to their trusted list in order for them to receive my mail. I signed up for their $20 a year premium service to block ads. I contacted them via the web to request cancellation of my account because I am so disappointed. 3 weeks later and my account is still active. In a few weeks I will be charged again so I'm trying to prevent that, but they are not getting back to me. Today I called them on the premium service support line and requested cancellation. They said they have to forward my request to the billing department. Are you kidding me?? I just want to cancel. I asked why I can't do it online (my opinion is because they try to make it as difficult as possible). They told me that service is not available online because they have some upgrades to do in order to implement that. I told them that most major email providers (yahoo, gmail, etc.) allow you to do that online and have for years. How, in 2011, do they not have the functionality to allow you to cancel your account. But they have the functionality to accept your credit card payment online... imagine that!

I have not been able to access my mail.com e-mail account since May 24, 2011. Today is May 30th. I have had a mail.com e-mail account for many years and very satisfied. Now I have not been able to access my account and log in. It says the e-mail and password combination is not correct. I have not changed anything. I did try to change the password to see if it would correct the situation but I was unable to do so. I called the help line and they said they could not help me unless I upgraded and paid for the account. I was willing to do so but they said I had to log in to upgrade and that can not be done because I can not log in. Can anyone help? I need my account for business purposes and it is very important.

I also can't log in with the homepage and with my mail client. Suprisingly when I created a new E-Mail it works. I don't understand.

I have been using mail.com for years, and happy with the site. But it is now a couple of days, I can not go beyond the homepage, it keeps loading indefinitely. Please let me know because I use this account for business and I am stuck
What happened to my email at Mail.com? 3 days ago it said my password was wrong and asked if I want it to send me another password, so I did, and I still haven't heard from mail.com.

Yeah- Mail.com blows! Since 12/10 have only been able to get in for 4 days and stupidly did not immediately transfer all my folders. 10 years worth of kids emails, pics, etc. Called L.A. business # and was told they do not help free customers. PLEASE- everyone call1-310-321-5000 and overload their switchboard and technical dept. Not that I think it will do any good. Look at the pics of corporate officers, especially the founder. Asshats!
A few days ago, I could not compose or reply to a message. This morning, it says my username and password is unknown. All I can do is sit and wait. I'm definitely leaving after this. gmail has GOT to be better.

Thanks for the info. I had the same problem with the log in for 4 days, and logging in aol.com helped me in the Czech Republic immediately.
Is there any update on this. I've got about 15 years of history screwed up is they don't get it sorted!!
I called the number they gave but it the number of Aol.Com so they say they can't do anything about it. And there is no other number that I can call about this problem!

I'm sorry everyone else is having problems but also slightly relieved that its not just me! I too run a business and its really frustrating not being able to get in. Have only been with them a few months and have had problems several times - not impressed.

I have the same problem with the "account is cancelled error", but I've managed to log in (keep trying...sometimes it gives me the cancelled error, other times it works). When I did manage to log in, there's a new format/look/features, so it's probably a bug in the upgrade to the new mail system. I've also been having frustrating issues for weeks where I keep getting an "invalid e-mail/password" error on the login screen and then, after a bunch of tries, it finally logs me in. I've been with them for over 8 years, too, and am worried/frustrated by these issues.

The aol.com didn't work at first due to "Authentication Problem", but then when I clicked "try agian" it asked me to enter a spam-deterrent code (wavy weird letters and numbers) it popped me back into my beloved account. I haven't tried web.mail.com. How bizarre that mail.com is unable to forward this new info to their user base. Thanks for forwarding the info, FISH, was it? I hope this is a long-term solution. FISH....U seem to be the one that's helping other besides tech-support (using the name losley) I've tried logging to Aol.com but it's not reconizing my either user namer and or password. What/Where do I go from here....Signed, desperate

Use their service only if you are prepared to lose your account any time without any warning. They can decide to drop your domain name out of the blue and after that you'll never see your emails again.
Their system has many glitches all the time which present themselves as logging in problems. This provider is risky at best.
